Knowing how to wax your car using buffer properly can significantly increase the amount of time it takes to polish your car unless you are a fan of the traditional method of using elbow grease to wax your car without buffers. It also gives your paint a shiny finish to make your car appear incredible!
The following steps are the step-by-step procedure for those who are new to waxing the car using buffer.
While the process may seem daunting, especially for novices but it's easy to master the art of waxing your car using buffer.
The process of waxing your car using the machine buffer isn't difficult to do. It can actually cut down on time when compared to applying wax manually.
To make sure the surface is prepared to be waxed, make use of clean water to wash your vehicle thoroughly. It is also recommended to remove dirt embedded in the car using clay bars.
It is recommended to wax your car in the shade or in a garage. This will allow you to avoid the direct sunlight that can dry the wax too fast.
Make sure you double check that the car's surfaces are clean since the dirt left behind can cause scratches. Use a soft cloth when cleaning any common dirt, such as bird droppings, so as not to scratch your car's surface.
The next step is the application of a top-grade car wax (or paint sealant).
Before you apply the wax, take note of the different types of wax on the market today: liquid wax, spray wax, and paste wax.
The easiest option for application is the liquid one; however, even though the paste wax method is more difficult and takes a longer time, it offers more lasting results when compared to the two other choices.
No matter which option you select, the first step is to select a finishing pad made of foam for applying wax. The pad must be absorbent and soft but also sufficient to hold the pressure of the power buffer.
The first step is to attach the pad of the applicator to your machine buffer. Apply a few dots of wax into the buffer pad to form the shape of a circle. Then, place enormous dots in between.
Then, rub the wax in a thin layer on some areas on the surface you're working on while the buffer is shut off. The wax will be spread across the surface, making it ready for smoothing.
Switch off the buffer of your machine, and then apply wax to the section with light pressure and in long straight sweep strokes.
Make sure to pass it over twice or three times; however, make sure there's plenty of wax covering the area to prevent any damage.
Be careful not to use too much pressure as you don't want to harm the paint. It is important to apply a consistent, thin layer of wax.
The reason for this wax is to provide protection from light scratches or water spots.
Once the wax is dry (check the product you purchased for further information), use a clean microfiber cloth to clean any remaining wax from its surfaces. If necessary, use soapy water.
